With regard to Afro-Spanish factions, these tend to be in the form of various Taifa sultanates, each one named after a major city.

Ideally the War Elephant should replace the Lancers for the Indians, and the swordsmen should be discarded.
Mongols are usually led by individual leaders, but the following are possible in the Late CtW:
- Chagatai (playable, uses Muslim subset)
- Golden Horde (see above)
